Uzbekistan Football Association Fined US$340,000 for Violating AFC Commercial Rules
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has imposed a fine on the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) for a series of violations during the 2026 World Cup qualifying match between Uzbekistan and Qatar, held on June 10 in Tashkent.
Following the game, BYD vehicles were brought onto the field and presented to players and the coaching staff, in violation of AFC regulations.
The Confederation noted that the UFA organized the ceremony without prior approval, failed to protect the rights of its commercial partners, engaged in elements of covert marketing, and did not provide adequate support during press conferences and other official events.
As a result, the Uzbekistan Football Association has been fined US$340,000, which must be paid within 30 days from the date of notification of the AFC’s decision.
