Uzbekistan finish second at CAFA U-17 Championship

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s U-16 national team concluded their campaign at the home CAFA U-17 Championship 2026 in second place.

The decisive match came against Tajikistan, who entered the fixture leading the standings with nine points. Uzbekistan approached the game with seven points, keeping their chances of winning the tournament alive with a victory.

However, the key encounter ended in a goalless draw, 0–0. The result allowed Tajikistan to retain first place with 10 points and secure the tournament title. Uzbekistan finished second with eight points.

Kyrgyzstan took third place with six points, while Turkmenistan and Afghanistan collected two and one point respectively, finishing lower in the final standings.
