Uzbekistan Finds Violations in Three Public Procurements Worth 1.9 Billion Soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Officials from the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan have identified violations in three public procurement contracts totaling 1.9 billion soums, the agency’s press service reported.
Inspections revealed that the largest violation, amounting to 1.6 billion soums, occurred in a public procurement conducted by the Urgench Judo Sports School. Another violation, totaling 298 million soums, was recorded in a procurement by the engineering company “Yagona Kuyumchi Khistima” under the Khorezm Regional Khokimiyat.
Additionally, during the evaluation of bids for a 32.5 million soums order from the Directorate of Art Exhibitions, instances of restricted competition and non-compliance with legislation were identified.
As a result of the audit, the procurement committee protocols determining the winners were annulled, preventing the illegal execution of the tenders. The collected materials have been forwarded to law enforcement authorities for further investigation.
