Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s national football team has learned its third opponent for Group K of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The playoff between Jamaica and DR Congo concluded today. Regulation time ended 0-0, but in the 100th minute, Axel Tuanzebe scored the decisive goal, securing DR Congo’s place in the World Cup finals.

As a result, Group K for the 2026 tournament will consist of Uzbekistan, Portugal, Colombia, and DR Congo.

Uzbekistan will open its campaign against Colombia on 18 June in Mexico City, with kickoff scheduled for 08:00 Tashkent time. The second match will take place on 23 June in Houston against Portugal, starting at 23:00 Tashkent time. The final group stage game will be held on 28 June in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where Uzbekistan will face DR Congo at 04:30 Tashkent time.

The 2026 World Cup will run from 11 June to 19 July, lasting a total of 39 days. The playoff format has also changed: in the round of 16, not only the top two teams from each group but also the eight best third-placed teams will advance, bringing the total number of teams in the first knockout round to 32.
