Uzbekistan Field Hockey Team Secures 2026 Asian Games Spot

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the men's field hockey qualifying tournament currently held in Bangkok, Thailand, the national team of Uzbekistan secured its participation in the "Aichi-Nagoya 2026" Summer Asian Games.

During the group stage, the Uzbek hockey players competed alongside teams from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Chinese Taipei. Based on the results of these matches, the national team secured second place and advanced to the semifinals, which allowed them to clinch an early spot for the upcoming Games in Japan.

In the semifinal match, the Uzbekistan team conceded a defeat to Oman and will continue its performance in the tournament in a match for third place.

It is worth noting that the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games are scheduled to take place from 19 September to 4 October of this year.
