Uzbekistan extradites Ordukhan Mehtiyev to Kazakhstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan extradited to Kazakhstan Ordukhan Mehdiyev, the owner of a bus in which 52 Uzbek were killed in a fire on the Samara-Shymkent highway in Kazakhstan in January 2018.

According to the press service of the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan, the detainee was taken to the Shymkent detention center.

Mehdiyev did not appear in the law enforcement agencies and was hiding from the investigation in Uzbekistan. In early December, he was detained in Tashkent.

In Kazakhstan, he is accused of committing a crime under Article 348, part 4 of the Criminal Code (poor repair of vehicles or putting them into operation with technical faults).
