Uzbekistan expands visa-free regime for Persian Gulf countries
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 June 2025, citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman will be able to enter Uzbekistan without a visa and stay in the country for up to 30 days.
The corresponding decree was signed by the President of Uzbekistan as part of the strategy for active tourism development and increasing the number of foreign visitors.
According to the Ministry of Justice, by the end of 2025, the country expects to receive 15.8 million foreign tourists. Tourist service exports are projected to reach 4 billion U.S. dollars.
At the same time, domestic tourism will also be developed. Authorities plan to increase the number of domestic trips to 40 million per year. To achieve this goal, 378 new tour operators will be launched in 2025.
The expansion of the visa-free regime is one of Uzbekistan’s key steps toward strengthening its position as a tourist hub in Central Asia, attracting investment, and promoting the national cultural heritage.
