Uzbekistan Expands Tomato Exports with Latvian Partners
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Ministry for Poverty Reduction and Employment of Uzbekistan with Latvian representatives to discuss expanding cooperation in agricultural exports.
Uzbek participants included Mukhtar Shonazarov and Farhod Abdulazov, while the Latvian side was represented by Ieva Jaunzeme from the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) and Liene Feldmane, an expert from the Latvian Agricultural Advisory Center (LLKC).
The discussion focused on uniting local farmers through the “Dalatek Cooperative” model and promoting Uzbek tomatoes to European Union markets. The cooperative system links farmers and traders, enhancing product quality, ensuring price stability, and expanding export opportunities.
Following the meeting, both sides agreed to implement transparent cooperative management, comply with EU standards and certification, and strengthen international knowledge exchange.
These initiatives aim to boost Uzbekistan’s export potential and integrate its agricultural products into European markets.
