Uzbekistan Expands List of International Brand Products Eligible for Reduced Customs Duties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 December, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution expanding the list of international brand products that can be imported into Uzbekistan under reduced customs rates.

The initiative aims to stimulate investor interest in international cooperation, integrate into global value chains, increase the presence of global brands in the Uzbek market, and attract tourists through shopping tourism.

Reduced duties apply to goods imported under direct contracts with brand owners or their official suppliers, including distributors, dealers, sales representatives, manufacturers, and licensees.

Previously, the list included 55 types of products; it has now been expanded to 70.

The updated list specifically includes coffee and coffee substitutes, which are now fully exempt from duties; household candles, with rates reduced from 15% to 10%; plastic and wooden tableware and kitchenware, also at 10%; textile floor coverings, blankets, and throws, reduced from 5% to 10%; as well as porcelain and ceramic tableware, glassware, and metal kitchen utensils, all subject to a lowered duty rate of 10%.
