Uzbekistan Exempts Electric Vehicle Equipment and Silk Industry Supplies from Duties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 December 2025, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed Decree “On Additional Measures to Ensure Guaranteed Supply of Certain Consumer Goods and Support for Specific Sectors of the Economy.”

According to the decree, from 1 January 2026 to 1 January 2028, goods included in special lists will be imported into the country duty-free.

These include technological equipment for electric vehicle charging stations, components and service infrastructure, as well as spare parts for cocoon-spinning devices and silk weaving machinery, mulberry tree seeds and seedlings, and super-elite, elite, and industrial breeds of the mulberry silkworm.

In addition, the decree establishes a special taxation regime for state institutions such as the “Waste Management Directorate” and for taxpayers whose primary income is derived from the collection, removal, sorting, and processing of waste.

For these entities, the corporate income tax and social tax rates will be set at 1% from 1 January 2026, to 1 January 2031, provided that each employee’s monthly salary is at least twice the minimum wage.

Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the launch of a five-year program to promote the use of electric vehicles.
