Uzbekistan Establishes Expert Council on Tax Disputes

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — By a government resolution, an Expert Council on Tax Disputes has been established under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The approved regulations define the council’s organizational framework and procedures for resolving disagreements between entrepreneurs and tax authorities.

The new advisory body will prepare expert opinions on tax disputes, analyze enforcement practices in the field of taxation, and develop recommendations for their improvement. Additionally, the council will foster collaboration between businesses, government agencies, and academic institutions when addressing contentious issues.

The composition of the Expert Council is approved by the President of Uzbekistan, and meetings will be held at least twice a month.

The council includes 12 specialists from both public and private sectors. Davron Vakhobov, head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was appointed as chairman. His deputies are Alimkhan Faizibaev, Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee; Ahad Khaydarov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance; and Jamshid Urunov, Deputy Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights and Legal Interests of Business Entities.

Other members include Farhod Olimjonov, head of the Customs Committee department; Bakhtiyor Ibatov, head of the General Prosecutor’s Office department; Uzakbergen Zhaksymuratov, head of the Ministry of Justice department; Svetlana Golosova, head of TRI-S-AUDIT LLC; Diana Bayzakova, head of the Tashkent International Arbitration Center; Bahodir Nabizhonov, chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Tax Consultants of Uzbekistan; Abdukhojiz Tangirikulov, head of EXACT ADVISER LLC; and Sarvarbek Niyazov, head of a department at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
