Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with El Salvador
The statement of the ministry noted that diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and El Salvador were established from 3 December 2014.
Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan at the UN Muzaffarbek Madrakhimov and Permanent Representative of El Salvador at the UN Ruben Ignacio Zamora Rivas signed a joint communiqué in New York, the United States.
El Salvador became the 133rd state, with which Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations, the Uzbek ministry said.
El Salvador is the smallest and the most densely populated country in Central America. El Salvador borders the Pacific Ocean on the south, and the countries of Guatemala to the west and Honduras to the north and east.
Its area is 21,044.8 square km. Its population makes up about 6 million. Its economy mainly relies on export of coffee, sugar cane, food and sea products.
El Salvador is one of the founders of the UN, member of the World Trade Organization and other international and regional organization.
