Uzbekistan Establishes Cooperation with Viasat on the Development of Satellite Technologies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official working visit to the United States, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with Donna Bethia Murphy, Senior Vice President for Global Regulatory and Technology Policy at Viasat.

The meeting focused on the development of satellite communication systems in Uzbekistan using Viasat’s advanced UltraGEO technology, the implementation of modern telecommunications solutions in the area of In-Flight Connectivity, the deployment of advanced NTN services including Direct-to-Device and IoT technologies, as well as the expansion of international technological cooperation.

The parties agreed to strengthen collaboration on the implementation of innovative space and communication projects, launch pilot initiatives, and expand knowledge exchange between specialists.

As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation was signed between UZ-SAT and Viasat.
