Uzbekistan, Ericsson Discuss Telecom and IoT Growth

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Washington, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with Jeffrey Mark Hook, Vice President for Government Affairs and Policy at Ericsson.

During the talks, the parties discussed reforms in Uzbekistan’s telecommunications sector, the expansion of broadband internet coverage, the introduction of next-generation technologies, and the modernization of network infrastructure.

The sides also exchanged views on the development of smart cities, Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems, and AI-based network management.

It was noted that these areas fully align with the country’s ambition for digital and innovation-driven development.
