Uzbekistan Eases Criminal Liability for Minors
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has liberalized criminal liability provisions for minors.
According to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 23 October 2025, amendments and additions have been introduced to the Criminal Code.
Under the new provisions, a person who committed a crime before the age of eighteen shall be considered as having no criminal record after fully serving the imposed sentence.
However, this rule does not apply to particularly serious crimes or cases where a person commits another offense before turning eighteen after serving a previous sentence.
In addition, the minimum term of imprisonment or restriction of freedom for minors has been reduced from six months to one month.
