Uzbekistan Discusses Pharmaceutical Cooperation with Polpharma
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 November, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a videoconference with Jerzy Starak, owner of Polpharma. The meeting was attended by senior executives of Polpharma Group and representatives of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical sector.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, including the development of high value-added projects, localisation of production, expansion of research activities, workforce training, and knowledge exchange.
The Polish side praised Uzbekistan’s progress in implementing international standards, including the WHO Listed Authorities (WLA) system, which provides local manufacturers with access to global markets, strengthens export potential, and supports the harmonisation of regulatory procedures.
The talks took place in a constructive atmosphere, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to pursuing joint investment projects, developing production, and cooperating in research and development.
Polpharma Group is one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in Central and Eastern Europe, producing prescription and over-the-counter medicines, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and operating its own R&D centres and modern production facilities.
