Uzbekistan Discusses Mining Expansion with Orano and Itochu

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 November 2025, Akram Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, met with representatives of Orano and Itochu.

During the talks, the parties discussed potential avenues for expanding cooperation in the mining sector and shared their visions for the further development of joint initiatives.

Participants highlighted the positive outcomes of ongoing projects and emphasized the importance of these initiatives for the future of the industry. The companies also expressed interest in continued involvement in promising areas and in strengthening partnership ties.

Both sides confirmed their readiness to maintain active engagement, support a high level of cooperation, and jointly work on implementing new projects aimed at developing the country’s mineral resource base and enhancing the technological potential of the sector.
