Uzbekistan Discusses Higher Education Cooperation with Canada
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 18 November, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Kungirovboy Sharipov, held a meeting with a delegation of Canadian representatives, which included staff from the Embassy of Canada and leaders of several Canadian educational institutions.
Among the participants were Jurgita Rushkite, Second Secretary for Trade at the Embassy of Canada; the Head of Global Business Development at Niagara College; and the International Development Manager at Douglas College.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in higher education, including the implementation of practice-oriented programs, joint educational projects, professional development for faculty, and the expansion of academic exchanges.
Special attention was given to opportunities for launching dual-degree programs, organizing academic internships, and implementing practice-oriented projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants expressed their readiness to develop mutually beneficial cooperation aimed at strengthening educational ties between Uzbekistan and Canada and enhancing the quality of specialist training.
