Uzbekistan Discusses Development of Tashkent International Airport with Japanese Companies Sojitz and JALUX

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 February, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasymov held a meeting with representatives of Japanese companies Sojitz Corporation and JALUX.

Sojitz Corporation is one of Japan’s largest trading and investment holdings, implementing projects in engineering, transportation, energy, industry, and infrastructure in more than 50 countries.

JALUX specializes in aviation and airport infrastructure development, duty-free operations, airline catering, and related services.

The discussions focused on accelerating the construction of the New Tashkent International Airport. Emphasis was placed on the urgent need to sign a public-private partnership agreement and ensure comprehensive development of the airport’s infrastructure.

Additionally, JALUX presented its plans to enter the Uzbek market and participate in the development of commercial airport infrastructure, including duty-free operations, airline catering, and related services.

Both sides confirmed their intention to continue practical cooperation and ensure the consistent implementation of the agreements reached.
