Uzbekistan Detects Illegal Use of Boss Brand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan reviewed a complaint from the German company Hugo Boss AG regarding the violation of its trademark rights by the private enterprise “O.A.”

The ministry noted that despite ongoing efforts to protect intellectual property rights and promote respect for them, cases of illegal use of third-party brands continue to be recorded.

During the investigation, it was established that “O.A.” offered counterfeit products for sale using the Boss trademark.

Under amendments to legislation that came into force on 10 November 2025, the illegal use of a third-party trademark, if it causes significant damage, may result in criminal liability.

In response to this violation, measures were taken against “O.A.,” and the company is required to destroy 57 units of counterfeit products intended for sale on the market.
