Uzbekistan Denies Reports of Mutual Recognition of Diplomas with Neighboring Countries
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has refuted reports claiming mutual recognition of diplomas with neighboring countries.
Earlier, it was reported that diplomas issued in Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan would be recognized across these countries.
The Agency for Assessment of Knowledge and Qualifications of Uzbekistan stated that this information is not accurate.
“Recognition of diplomas issued by foreign countries on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan is carried out exclusively in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On Education’ and the Regulations on the Procedure for Recognition of Educational Documents Obtained Abroad, approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 620 dated 24 July 2019,” the agency emphasized.
The document defines the categories of foreign educational credentials that can be directly recognized within the country.
At the same time, the agency stressed that, to date, no international agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas has been concluded between Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan.
Recognition of foreign educational documents is carried out solely on the basis of national legislation.
