Uzbekistan Delivers Over 290 Tons of Aid to Afghanistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has delivered more than 290 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The initiative coincides with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr and is aimed at supporting the Afghan population while strengthening neighborly relations between the two countries.
The shipment included flour, rice, wheat, vegetable oil, instant foods, pasta, confectionery, and other food products. The official handover ceremony took place in Hayraton.
At the event, Deputy Governor of Balkh Province Mawlawi Abu Idris, representatives of the provincial Foreign Ministry, and the Hayraton administration expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his ongoing attention and practical support for the Afghan people.
Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Oybek Usmanov and Hokim of Surkhandarya Region Ulugbek Kosimov also attended the ceremony.
The humanitarian initiative highlights Uzbekistan’s commitment to assisting neighboring countries and promoting regional stability and cooperation.
