Uzbekistan delivers a new batch of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan weighing 390 tons

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A ceremony was held in Hairatan (Balkh Province) on 29 December to hand over a new batch of humanitarian aid to the Afghan side on behalf of Uzbekistan’s leadership.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the cargo, with a total weight of about 390 tons, was assembled at the Termez Cargo Centre and includes food products, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.

Mawlawi Haji Mohammad Yousuf Wafa, Governor of Balkh Province, after inspecting the contents of the shipment, expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the continued support and attention to the Afghan people.

He stressed that regular humanitarian initiatives confirm the brotherly nature of relations and Tashkent’s practical readiness to assist Afghanistan.

This is already the fourth batch of humanitarian aid sent by Uzbekistan to Afghanistan in 2025.

Provincial authorities note that Uzbekistan’s efforts are helping strengthen bilateral ties and expand trade and economic cooperation.

According to Wafа, cooperation in recent years has helped increase exports of Afghan goods and improve the socio-economic situation in the region.
