It was emphasized that Uzbekistan is implementing a Gender Equality Strategy through 2030, with the role of women in politics, the economy, and social spheres becoming increasingly prominent. Examples cited included women’s active involvement in parliament, governance bodies, education, and entrepreneurship.
A separate focus of the discussions was the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy. Participants underlined the importance of deepening democratic transformations, strengthening gender equality, and expanding women’s rights and opportunities.
