Uzbekistan Defeats Panama 6:1 to Reach FIFA U17 World Cup Playoffs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan U17 national team convincingly beat Panama 6:1 to advance to the FIFA U17 World Cup playoffs, finishing second in Group J with six points.
The match began cautiously for Uzbekistan. In the 18th minute, goalkeeper Ibrokhim Shokirov conceded a penalty after a foul in the box, but he brilliantly saved Estiva Lopez’s shot, keeping the score 0-0.
After halftime, the Uzbek team stepped up significantly. In the 48th minute, Abubakir Shukurullaev opened the scoring with a header, connecting with Abdumalik Anvarov’s cross from the left flank. Seven minutes later, Sadriddin Khusanov doubled the lead after a precise pass from Sayfiddin Sodikov. In the 68th minute, Shukurullaev provided an assist as Sodikov scored to make it 3-0.
In stoppage time, Uzbekistan continued to dominate. In the 90+1st minute, Jamshidbek Rustamov scored the fourth goal following a pass from Asilbek Aliev, who quickly added a fifth goal himself after intercepting the ball and finishing one-on-one. In the 90+5th minute, Abdusamat Saidov made it 6-0 from a penalty awarded for a handball. Panama managed to score a consolation goal at the very end through Joseph Pacheco.
The win secured Uzbekistan’s place in the FIFA U17 World Cup playoffs and reinforced the team’s reputation as one of the tournament’s most entertaining and high-scoring sides.
