Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The results of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic, the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, the strengthening of mutually beneficial trade, economic, political, legal, cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed during the first online meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and Czech parliamentarian.
The first Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Akmal Saidov and the Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Vojtech Filip took part in it.
The scale of the spread of coronavirus and measures taken in Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic to counter this global threat were discussed. The role of parliamentarians in the fight against a pandemic aimed at preventing the negative consequences of the disease is noted.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue building up inter-parliamentary partnership on a wide range of issues of mutual interest. In particular, questions were raised of the development of tourism between the two countries, the cooperation of the agrarian committees of both parliaments in the field of development of livestock, crop production, etc.
The talks noted the importance of further deepening inter-parliamentary ties in the early ratification of international treaties to expand bilateral cooperation in all areas.
The need was noted to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation to prevent the negative impact of the pandemic on trade and economic relations between the two countries.
The parties agreed to further support the initiatives of both countries at the sites of international organizations such as the UN, OSCE, Inter-Parliamentary Union and others.
During the meeting, measures were identified to strengthen bilateral relations and practical cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic.
