Uzbekistan Customs Committee Representative Attends ESCAP International Seminar in Bangkok
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An international practical seminar organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is being held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 24 to 26 February.
The event focuses on methodological and institutional tools for identifying and curbing illicit financial flows, with its primary objective being the exchange of expertise on analyzing such flows and developing effective countermeasures.
Participants from Nigeria, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mexico, Bangladesh, Gabon, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are attending the seminar.
Uzbekistan's Customs Committee is represented by J. Tugalov, an officer from the Main Directorate of Currency Control and Non-Tariff Regulation.
He is briefing colleagues on the measures being taken in Uzbekistan to ensure economic security and counter the illicit movement of capital, while also exchanging insights with international experts.
According to the organizers, applying the advanced methodologies presented at the seminar will enhance the effectiveness of detecting illicit financial transactions in the customs sphere and strengthen the sector's institutional framework — representing a further step toward greater transparency and resilience of the national economy.
