Uzbekistan creates the Agency for Urbanization under the Ministry of Economy and Industry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) –– The Government approved the Regulation on the Agency for Urbanization under the Ministry of Economy and Industry.

According to the Regulations, the Agency is accountable to the Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Cabinet of Ministers. The Agency implements a unified state policy in the sphere of regulation of urbanization processes. Also, the Agency develops and implements a mechanism for the transformation of settlements in "green cities".

The agency is headed by a director - deputy minister of economy and industry, appointed and dismissed by the president. In addition, the Regulation defines the rights and obligations, cooperation with other government agencies and sources of funding for the Agency.
