Uzbekistan Concludes Bilateral WTO Negotiations with Canada and Panama
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the 11th meeting of the Working Party on Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the country successfully signed protocols completing bilateral market access negotiations with Canada and Panama, said Azizbek Urunov, the President’s Representative on WTO Affairs.
“Uzbekistan expresses gratitude to the Canadian and Panamanian delegations for their constructive participation in the WTO accession process and bilateral negotiations,” he noted in a LinkedIn post.
At the end of October, Urunov reported the completion of negotiations with the European Union and Panama. He stated that the EU became the 31st party to complete negotiations with Uzbekistan, while a similar agreement had been reached with Panama a week earlier.
“Now it is official: 31 countries have completed negotiations, with only three remaining,” Urunov emphasized.
