Uzbekistan Clarifies New Vehicle Registration Certificate Rules
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Road Safety Service of Uzbekistan has clarified the application of the new validity period for vehicle registration certificates.
Earlier, reports on social media about the introduction of a “validity term” for registration certificates led to misunderstandings regarding the new rules.
According to the agency, Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 125, dated 30 March2026, establishes a five-year validity for vehicle registration certificates. These certificates are used for inventorying key components, including the vehicle body and engine. Importantly, no re-registration of the vehicle is required.
The new rule applies only to documents issued after 1 April 2026.
The agency emphasized that specifying a validity period in registration certificates is similar to other identification documents, such as ID cards or passports, and does not require any additional procedures.
