Uzbekistan-China Trade, Economic, and Investment Forum Held in Shenzhen
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China, the Uzbek-Chinese (Shenzhen) Trade, Economic, and Investment Forum was held at the initiative of the Hokimiyat of Namangan Region, with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China and the Uzbek-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The forum was attended by the Namangan Region delegation led by Hokim Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China Farhod Arziev, Head of the International Relations Department of the Shenzhen Municipal Government Cai Saixian, as well as executives from major Chinese holdings, investment and industrial companies, and representatives of the business community.
In his speech, the Hokim of Namangan Region highlighted the large-scale economic and institutional reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He noted the significant improvement in the investment climate, expansion of entrepreneurship support measures, and the creation of an open and transparent environment for foreign investors.
Forum participants were presented with the investment and export potential of Namangan Region in sectors such as industry, textiles and agro-industry, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, construction materials production, logistics, and export-oriented manufacturing.
Cai Saixian emphasized the strong interest of Shenzhen business circles in developing cooperation with Namangan Region, particularly in industry, innovation, high technology, and the green economy.
The forum included a series of bilateral meetings in B2B and G2B formats. As a result, agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed to implement 27 investment projects with a total value exceeding US$3.5 billion.
The implementation of these projects is expected to create thousands of new jobs in Namangan Region, increase the region’s export potential, and introduce modern technologies.
The forum marked an important step in enhancing the international investment attractiveness of Namangan Region and elevating Uzbek-Chinese cooperation to a qualitatively new, long-term, and mutually beneficial level.
