Uzbekistan exported 200,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables for US$300 million in 2013. The figure can rose by 50,000-70,000 tonnes and the sum can reach US$400 million, Artikov said. He said that about 80% of exports of fruits and vegetables of Uzbekistan to fell share of Russia.
Last year, Uzbekistan left behind Poland, Spain, Argentina, Marocco and Italy on the volume of supplied products to Russia.
Artikov said that Uzbekistan faces difficulties to increase exports of fruits and vegetables to Russia due to bad technical state of specialized transport vehicles of Uzbekistan and strict quarantine measures in Russia.
Uzbekistan produced 10.6 million tonnes of fruits and vegetables (+8.4%), 1.57 million tonnes of melons (+10.3%), 1.3 million tonnes of grapes (+9.2%). About 500,000-700,000 tonnes of them are exported to CIS states, first of all, to Russia and Kazakhstan.
