Uzbekistan-Bulgaria: issues of cooperation, expansion of mutual trade and increase in exports of domestic products were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 April 2021, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the President of the Association for the Promotion of Small and Medium Businesses - United Business Clubs (UBC) Veselin Savov Galachev.

From the Uzbek side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan F. Usmanov, as well as the head of the Export Promotion Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan G. Usmanov.

During the event, issues of cooperation in expanding mutual trade, increasing exports of domestic products to both countries were discussed.

The Uzbek side noted that Bulgaria is a promising trade and economic partner of Uzbekistan in the European Union. He noted that today there are all conditions for the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Also, the Bulgarian side especially focused on the fact that Bulgaria considers Uzbekistan as its priority partner in Central Asia, with whom it would like to continue developing friendly and economic relations.

During the meeting, the guests from Bulgaria were familiarized with the economic potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as promising cooperation projects. The Bulgarian side was also familiarized in detail with the measures taken in Uzbekistan to improve the investment climate and economic potential.

Further, the Bulgarian side made a presentation, where it acquainted with the activities of the Association for the Promotion of Small and Medium Businesses - United Business Clubs (UBC).

The Association for the Promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses - United Business Clubs (UBC) is a large network of small and medium-sized enterprises representing more than 2000 small and medium-sized enterprises in Bulgaria, as well as in Croatia, Macedonia, Romania and other European countries.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to organize and hold an exhibition of products made in Uzbekistan "Made in Uzbekistan" in the food, textile, electrical, chemical, leather and footwear industries. The parties also agreed to organize cooperation between the business circles of the two countries. The Bulgarian side voiced its readiness to support Uzbekistan in expanding mutual trade, increasing exports of products to the EU countries within the framework of the GSP + system. An agreement was also reached on signing a cooperation agreement between Uzbekistan and Bulgaria.

It should be noted that currently 27 enterprises with the participation of Bulgarian capital operate in the Republic of Uzbekistan, including 4 enterprises with 100% Bulgarian capital.
