Uzbekistan Boosts Digital Cooperation Between Tax and Customs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chair of Uzbekistan’s Tax Committee, Farrukh Pulatov, and the Chair of the Customs Committee, Akmalhuja Mavlonov, signed a joint action plan to strengthen collaboration between the two agencies.
The plan focuses on expanding data exchange and developing digital solutions, aiming to improve transparency in foreign trade operations and reduce the shadow economy.
Integration of information systems is expected to enable timely detection of violations, prevent illicit schemes, and minimize budget losses. Practical measures include automated matching of customs cargo data with electronic invoices, identifying discrepancies, and implementing risk-based logical controls.
These initiatives are designed to curb illegal trade, prevent abuse, and ensure a level playing field for compliant businesses.
The agreement is part of presidential directives on digitizing foreign trade monitoring and enhancing oversight of high-risk operations, in line with Uzbekistan’s broader strategy to increase transparency and efficiency in economic governance.
