Uzbekistan becomes a member of the General Confederation of Trade Unions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan became a member of the General Confederation of Trade Unions (WCP). This was reported by the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan.
On 24 December, a retreat of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Trade Unions (WCP) was held in Tashkent. The main issue on the agenda was the discussion of the accession of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan to the WCP.
The meeting was attended by leaders and members of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Trade Unions, heads of trade union centers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, heads of international associations of sectoral trade unions, leaders of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, chairmen of sectoral and territorial trade unions of Uzbekistan.
The proposal to join the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan in the membership of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union was unanimously supported, and it was officially admitted to membership of the WCP.
At the on-site meeting of the Executive Committee of the All-Union Communist Party, a proposal was made to award the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the honorary gold badge of the WCP “For services to the trade union movement” for significant personal contribution to ensuring the socio-economic interests of the working people of Uzbekistan, strengthening social partnership at the national level, increasing the authority of trade unions of Uzbekistan. This proposal was unanimously supported and accepted.
