Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan Agree to Deepen Cooperation in Higher Education and Science
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Senior officials from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan agreed to expand cooperation in higher education, research and innovation during a meeting in Tashkent on November 24, according to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
Sardor Radjabov, Uzbekistan’s first deputy minister for higher education, science and innovation, held talks with Emin Amrullayev, Azerbaijan’s minister of science and education. The two sides discussed plans to strengthen academic exchanges, develop joint degree programs and expand collaboration on scientific projects.
Officials highlighted the importance of training specialists in priority fields, increasing faculty exchange programs and supporting joint research and innovation initiatives.
Following the meeting, the countries reached agreements to broaden cooperation in higher education and science, support startup collaboration, provide student grants and organize a rectors’ forum in 2026.
The parties also signed a memorandum of understanding between Uzbekistan’s Agency for Innovative Development and Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Science and Higher Education.
