Uzbekistan attracts grants for US$215.5m in 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan attracted 169 grants for total sum of US$215.5 million in 2014, the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan said.

Uzbekistan attracted 35 grants for US$60.4 million to implement projects in healthcare sector.

Uzbekistan attracted 48 grants for US$89.5 million to education and improve skills of workers, the ministry said.

About US$1.5 million of grants were directed to implement six projects for material-technical equipment and institutional development of state bodies and US$6.4 million to 26 projects for social protection, development of culture and sport.

Eleven grants for US$17.3 million were attracted to implementation of projects in ecology sphere. Uzbekistan attracted six grants for US$13 million to technical re-equipment of law enforcement and customs bodies.

The country received eight grants for US$10.8 million to introduction of modern information-communication technologies, one grant for US$6 million – to improve water supply and sanitary, 10 grants for US$3.6 million – to development of agriculture and water management.

Uzbekistan got three grants for US$1.6 million to implement measures on energy saving and introduction of alternative sources of energy and three grants for US$1.5 million to development of transport infrastructure. Uzbekistan also attracted 12 grants for US$3.9 million on other directions.
