Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 June 2020, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov took part in the second preparatory meeting for the 28th Ecological and Economic Forum of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which was held in the form of video conferencing.
The event was attended by OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Lee Yong, representatives of international structures and OSCE participating States.
An exchange of views took place on the issues of promoting security, stability and economic growth in the OSCE region by preventing and combating corruption through innovation, increasing transparency and digitalization.
The Uzbek side spoke on the topic "Modern innovative approach in the fight against corruption - the experience of Uzbekistan."
During the speech, it was emphasized that in Uzbekistan, the fight against corruption has been elevated to the rank of state policy. In particular, special attention is paid to improving the organizational and legal mechanisms for combating corruption, increasing the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures, strengthening the legal culture of the population, and organizing effective interaction between government bodies and civil society institutions and the media.
