“In the first half of the year it is planned to hold a series of consultations and to work out mutually acceptable solutions to facilitate access to the Russian market of Uzbek automobiles and textiles," – the Uzbek official told to the Russian agency.
It is necessary to create equal conditions for Uzbek exporters, including the issues of car loans and textiles supplies resumption in Russia through public procurement, the official said.
The issues of exports of the Uzbek automobiles were discussed at the end of November at the session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia. Exports of Uzbek cars to Russia is falling. The Uzbek side said that the reason for this was the situation in the Russian market, associated with the devaluation of the ruble, and measures, adopted to protect Russian producers.
According to the Automobile Manufacturers Committee of the Association of European Businesses, sales of cars manufactured in Uzbekistan in fell by 35% year-on-year in January-November 2014.
