Uzbekistan Approves Regulations on Electricity Metering

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 November 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved Resolution No. 749, establishing the “Regulations on the Procedure for Accounting of Electric Energy.”

The document sets requirements for electricity metering systems at all stages of production, transmission, distribution, storage, and consumption.

The metering system includes:

Active and reactive energy meters with additional pulse devices, a time source, and a battery;

Measuring transformers compliant with accuracy class and load requirements;

Secondary circuits, connecting wires, a test unit or switch-on/off device, load resistors, meter cabinets, seals, and security locks.

When designing energy facilities, it is required to assess the overall relative error of the metering system and implement measures to minimize it.

The regulations also mandate maintaining an automatic data log for each metering point. These logs must be stored for at least five years and archived in compliance with information security requirements.
