Uzbekistan Approves Program to Support Children with Rare Diseases
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved the Program of Measures for Providing Medical and Social Assistance to Children with Rare (Orphan) and Other Hereditary-Genetic Diseases for 2026–2030.
The program aims to expand access to free treatment and prevention of rare and hereditary-genetic diseases.
Under the program, the number of diseases covered by state-funded treatment will increase from five to ten, and the provision of children with medicines, specialized nutrition, and medical devices will rise from 95% to 99%.
Special attention is being given to the health protection and rehabilitation of children suffering from these conditions.
Starting from 1 January 2026, free medical monitoring and treatment will be provided to patients aged 18 to 21 inclusive, funded by the state budget.
