Uzbekistan Approves Procedures for Free Medical Care

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan has approved Resolution No. 694, from 4 November 2025, which establishes the procedures for providing medical care in state and non-state medical institutions funded by the state budget.

According to the document, medical care is financed from the budget at the district (city) and territorial levels for all population categories, while at the national level it is provided for privileged patients.

To receive care, citizens must contact their assigned primary healthcare facility. The family doctor conducts an initial examination and, if necessary, refers the patient to a specialist.

The specialist examines the patient within one working day, following current clinical protocols and diagnostic and treatment standards.

If inpatient care is required, the specialist or family doctor refers the patient to a scheduled hospital admission at a district (city) medical institution through an electronic information system.

Patient information is additionally reviewed by national-level medical selection commissions, which issue a decision within two working days via the electronic system.
