Uzbekistan Approves Procedure for Organizing Occupational Safety Services in Organizations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government of Uzbekistan has approved the Regulation on the procedure for organizing occupational safety work and the activities of occupational safety services within organizations.

According to the document, employers are required to implement an occupational safety management system, as well as establish both an occupational safety service and a road safety service.

Employee training includes introductory briefings and on-the-job instruction, internships and knowledge assessments, and first-aid training for responding to accidents.

Annually, by January 20, employers must submit information to the MAPC “ENST” system regarding working conditions, amounts of allowances and compensation for work under harmful or hazardous conditions, as well as data on the number of injured employees and newly diagnosed occupational diseases.

Organizations will also introduce administrative and public oversight, carried out in stages: first at the level of a unit or shift, then at the department level, and finally across the organization as a whole.
