Uzbekistan Approves Foreign Degree Recognition Rules
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A resolution by the Government of Uzbekistan has approved the administrative regulations for providing public services related to the recognition of documents for academic degrees obtained in foreign countries.
According to the document, diplomas and other documents confirming an academic degree—issued by the certification bodies of foreign states or relevant higher educational institutions in accordance with their legislation—may be recognized by the authorized body either through a scientific expertise process or via a simplified procedure without such an examination.
To obtain this public service, applicants must apply to public service centers and register through the Single Portal of Interactive State Services. The application must be accompanied by a notarized document confirming the conferral of the academic degree and a copy of the dissertation. A fee equal to one base calculated value is charged for the provision of this service.
Following the verification of the authenticity of the documents, a scientific expertise is conducted within 20 days. Based on the results of this evaluation, a decision is made to either recognize the degree or refuse the issuance of a certificate. In the event of a positive conclusion, a certificate of recognition of the academic degree is issued and entered into an electronic register.
