Uzbekistan Appoints New Business Ombudsman
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has appointed a new Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights and Lawful Interests of Business Entities (Business Ombudsman) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Abdumannop Buriyev has assumed this position.
Abdumannop Buriev, born in 1986, previously served as a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis representing the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan. In parliament, he was a member of the Committee on Combating Corruption and Legal and Judicial Affairs.
The institution of the Business Ombudsman was first introduced in the Presidential Decree No. PF-4848 dated 5 October 2016. Its official establishment took place on 5 May 2017 under Decree No. PF-5037.
The first Commissioner was Dilmurod Kasimov, appointed in accordance with Presidential Decree No. PF-5125 on 28 July 2017.
