Uzbekistan Announces Squad for Inaugural FIFA Series Tournament
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national football team, led by Fabio Cannavaro, has finalized its squad for the international FIFA Series tournament, which will be held in the country for the first time.
The competition kicks off on 27 March. At 15:00 Tashkent time, the opening match at Pakhtakor Stadium will feature Venezuela against Trinidad and Tobago. Later that day, at 19:00, Uzbekistan will face Gabon at Bunyodkor Stadium.
The second round is scheduled for 30 March. Gabon will play Trinidad and Tobago at 15:00 at Pakhtakor Stadium, while Uzbekistan meets Venezuela at 19:00, with both home-team matches taking place at Bunyodkor Stadium.
Several players originally listed in the extended roster will miss the training camp due to injuries. This includes Jaloliddin Masharipov, Husniddin Aliqulov, Abbosbek Fayzullayev, Dilshod Komilov, Ibrohimhalil Yoldoshev, Abdulla Abdullaev, Alibek Davronov, and Husayn Norchayev.
The final squad includes goalkeepers Utkir Yusupov, Abduvohid Nematov, and Botirali Ergashev. The defensive line features Rustamjon Ashurmatov, Umarbek Eshmurodov, Abduqodir Khusanov, Muhammadrasul Abdumadjidov, Khodjiakbar Alijonov, Sherzod Nasrullaev, Behruzjon Karimov, Jahongir Urozov, Farrukh Saifiev, and Muhammadkodir Khamraliev.
In midfield, the team fields Umarali Rakhmonaliev, Ibrokhim Ibragimov, Dostonbek Khamdamov, Akmal Mozgovoy, Otabek Shukurov, Azizjon Ganiev, Odiljon Khamrobekov, Jamshid Iskanderov, and Oston Urunov.
The attack comprises Eldor Shomurodov, Igor Sergeev, Alisher Odilov, and Sherzod Temirov.
This lineup is expected to represent Uzbekistan strongly in its first FIFA Series tournament at home, aiming to showcase local talent and compete against international teams.
