Uzbekistan and World Bank Discuss Implementation of “Clean Energy for Buildings” Project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working meeting was held in Uzbekistan between the project team of the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s “Clean Energy for Buildings” initiative and representatives of the World Bank.
The meeting included senior World Bank energy specialists Irina Vojtehovich and Jorn Hyunteler, along with other relevant staff members.
From Uzbekistan, participants included Ziyoviddin Badridinov, Director of the National Agency for Energy Efficiency; Boburbek Yegamov, Director of the Joint Project Implementation Group at the Ministry of Economy and Finance; project manager Talat Nurillaev; and other responsible officials.
The discussions focused on organizing work in the project’s pilot areas, accelerating the activities of the international consultant engaged in the project, and further strengthening cooperation with the National Agency for Energy Efficiency.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to deepen collaboration and provide mutual support to ensure effective implementation of the initiatives.
Under the “Clean Energy for Buildings” project, the World Bank is financing the renovation of more than 800 social facilities across Uzbekistan.
