Uzbekistan and Vietnam Step Up Investment Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of a visit to Vietnam by a Working Group headed by Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, bilateral meetings were held on 23 December with a number of leading Vietnamese corporations to advance key areas of mutual cooperation.
Talks with Masan Group focused on prospects for cooperation in the extraction and processing of critical minerals. Discussions with Sovico Group covered opportunities in transport, urban development, tourism, and the banking and financial sector.
Special attention was given to accelerating ongoing projects with ROX Group in tourism and urban development. Negotiations were also held with Vingroup and its subsidiaries VinHomes, VinPearl and VinFast regarding the preparation and implementation of investment projects in priority sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy.
Following the meeting, an Agreement on the Development of Mutual Cooperation was signed between Uzbekistan’s MIIT and Vingroup.
The visit aims to expand practical cooperation between the two countries, attract foreign direct investment and launch new investment and industrial cooperation projects.
