Uzbekistan and U.S. State of Utah strengthen inter-parliamentary and business ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Uzbek delegation led by First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev is holding working meetings in the U.S. state of Utah with representatives of political, business, and academic circles.
During talks with Utah Senate President Stuart Adams, the parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, attracting investment, and implementing innovative projects. The Uzbek delegation proposed adopting Utah’s expertise in areas such as mining, extraction and processing of rare metals, as well as the production of batteries and semiconductors for electric transport.
Special attention was given to applying Utah’s scientific and methodological experience in addressing environmental challenges in the Aral Sea region and implementing joint initiatives for artemia cultivation.
In addition, meetings with leaders of Utah’s leading universities focused on prospects for academic cooperation, including the launch of joint educational programs and the development of student exchange.
Following the talks, both sides confirmed their readiness to intensify cooperation in the fields of economy, education, and culture.
