Uzbekistan and US hold political consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Fifth round of the Uzbek-US political consultations was held in Tashkent on 1-2 December 2014. The US delegation was led by Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal.

During the general meeting of the delegation and joint sessions of sub-groups on various directions, the sides considered course of implementation of agreements, reached during previous consultations in Washington in December 2014 and exchanged opinion on key issues of the Uzbek-US relations, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

The sides also paid attention to perspectives of development of cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other sheres.

The sides also considered international and regional issues.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of USA to Uzbekistan George Krol participated in the meeting.
